Mindfulness Practices for Youth

Do you wish you could calm your mind, reduce stress and fear, and find stillness in an anxious world? This workshop will introduce you to tangible practices for incorporating mindfulness into your daily life. Practices may include awareness meditation, loving-kindness meditation, gratitude meditation, lectio divina, and body prayer. This workshop is intended to be a space where youth can try out a few new practices and where youth leaders can experience the valuable resources in The Upper Room's high school study, The Awakened Life: Finding Stillness in an Anxious World.

Workshop leader: Dylan White and Emily White, The Upper Room

How will it help you be BOLD? The Awakened Life is not your typical Bible study—it is an invitation to awaken to life through daily spiritual practices that open us to the abundant life God offers. We invite you to explore new ways to get the most out of every moment and to see what God is doing in you, in your relationships, and in the world around you. We hope the practices you adopt will bring you closer to God, build strength to face life’s struggles, and awaken you to a life of joy.

Audience Age Range:

  • Adult Leaders/Volunteers/Chaperones
  • Older Youth (9-12th grades)
