ROOTED AND GROWING: WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A DISCIPLE

Scott Hughes (Discipleship Ministries)
Discipleship begins not with what we do, but with whose we are, rooted in grace that claimed us before we knew to ask for it. In this interactive workshop, we'll explore what it means to be a disciple through the lens of our shared practices: the baptism that initiated us into the journey, the membership vows that name how disciples actually live, and holy communion that shapes us into the pattern of Christ and sends us into the world. Drawing on the parables of growth and the Wesleyan understanding of grace, participants will develop shared language for the discipleship journey and leave with a concrete next step to carry home.
