Worship & Music
Worship twice per day, Morning Worship (10am-noon) and Evening Communion (8:30-9:30pm).
We worship together in community, celebrating with one another that God has and is creating a safe space, a sanctuary for all of us.
Morning Worship will include a variety of voices, singing, and prayers. Each day includes someone representing the United Methodist Church. We will hear youth and young adult voices. Each worship focuses on an important aspect of our theme, Sanctuary.
Evening Communion brings us together as the body of Christ. The United Methodist Church believes in an Open Table, meaning that the sacrament of communion is available to all people, not only those who are members of the United Methodist Church. We hope and pray that you will come to the table with your heart in love with God, with your Spirit wanting to seek Sanctuary and offer Sanctuary in return.

Communion in United Methodism:
In United Methodism there are two sacraments: baptism and communion. Theologian Augustin said that sacraments are “the outward and visible signs of an inward and invisible grace.” United Methodists believe that God gives us extraordinary grace through ordinary things, like bread and juice. Communion is one of the ways we experience God’s unconditional love, which is why we believe that the table, God’s table, is open to everyone who seeks to know and love God. If interested in more depth and learning about the United Methodist understanding of communion, the Belong series is an excellent place to reference. https://store.umcdiscipleship.org/product-category/belong/
A GYPC Prayer
As you think about what Sanctuary means for you,
As you explore the places that feel like your safe space
Where you can connect with God, your community and the world,
We pray that you choose to create Sanctuary and safe spaces for others.
May we find God together,
in these times of worship,
in each other,
and in all whom we meet.
May we be Sanctuary!
Amen.
Musical Leadership during GYPC will be provided by Equmenia Ton, an innovative musical ministry from the young people in the Uniting Church of Sweden. You can learn more about this ministry at https://equmenia.se/kreativa-uttryck/equmenia-ton/
