Heading out for your mission trip and want to be sure you've got the tools to help your team connect this service work to their faith in Jesus? Check out the daily devotional journal prepared by Hank Hilliard for his church's recent trip to Mexico. His strategy is to keep youth engaged regularly througout the week in an ongoing conversation about what God is doing in their lives through this experience. As Hank's team writes:

"Take 5-10 minutes each day to go through the daily journal page. Go at your own pace and focus on the parts that connect with you the most. Bring this journal with you to our group meeting times each evening and share anything that you feel led to share!"

Giving individuals the opportunity to do their own spiritual reflection, and complementing that with group discussions makes room for folks who process in a variety of ways. We hope that any mission trip you design will have moments like these, helping connecting our hands-on partnership in the world with God's grace-filled transformation of hearts and communities through the love of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
